We all know, that everywhere we go you can find plenty of businesses; but it is important to clear the idea of what is a business. A business is an activity of making one’s living or making money by producing or buying and selling products (such as goods and services).

The term is also often used colloquially (but not by lawyers or by public officials) to refer to a company. On the other hand, a company is a separate legal entity and provides for limited liability and corporate tax rates. A company structure is more complex and expensive to set up but offers more protection and benefits for the owner.

Profits in business are not necessarily money. It can be a benefit in any form which is acknowledged by a business entity involved in business activity.

How to begin a business?

Generally, a business begins with a concept, that is the idea, and a name. Depending on the nature of the business, extensive market research may be necessary to know if it is a good idea, and if the business can give value to the customers.

For example, if you wanna put a luxury robes business (that sells products), or a luxury cycling tours Mallorca (that sells services), you first need to know your niche, make proper market research, will help you know what is your ideal niche, at what price to sell it, which marketing campaigns are the ideal ones, to get more clients, and more.

Businesses most often form after the evolution of a business plan, which is a formal document that describes a business’s goals and objectives, and its strategies of what they will do to achieve the goals and objectives.

For last, it is also important to determine the legal structure of the business. Depending on the type of business, it may need to secure permits, adhere to registration requirements, and obtain licenses to legally operate. If you do not do any of that, it may cause you problems in the future, because everything in your business must be legit.

The objective of a business

The business objective is what makes the business go on and conduct its activities in a long term; basically, it is the reason why the business exists.

A traditional concept of objectives of a business is to earn/get profits, by selling products or services. But now, there is a modern concept that defines it as the implicit objective of every business is customer satisfaction as this is what results in most profits. If the customer is satisfied, the business grows.
